The Ombudsman strongly condemns acts of violence that occurred on the night of August 3 in front of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), where a group of people who made a Pacific vigil was attacked by subjects not yet identified, notes press release of the institution.
The Ombudsman, Alfredo Ruiz, called on the victims to present the formal complaint before the Public Ministry to collect evidence that contributes to the inquiries before the entity responsible for investigating and exercising the corresponding criminal actions, as well as clarifying the facts and identifying those responsible for the aggression.
Ruiz stressed that all made of violence against people put life and integrity at risk, so he called on the population to avoid this type of counterproductive acts that carry personal damage judicial actions for those who commit it.
The press release refers that “the Ombudsman’s Office reaffirms its commitment to the promotion of peaceful coexistence and respect for human rights, calling on all citizens to avoid any type of violence, discrimination or actions that put the lives and integrity of people at risk.”
