The specialist assured this Sunday —in statements for La República— that “the call they make is an infringement of the Political Constitution of Peru”.
“The call for a march for peace carried out by the Police is an infringement of the Constitution. Article 34 of the constitutional text establishes that members of the National Police cannot participate in demonstrations, and its article 169 prescribes that the National Police is not deliberative”, advanced Omar Cairo.
He also indicated that, if the demonstration were to take place, the political responsibility would correspond to the Minister of the Interior, Víctor Rojas Herrera. He added that President Dina Boluarte would also be affected in constitutional law.
“Clearly, it is not a march for peace, in the philosophical sense, but a demonstration in support of a political option. If the call subsists, the political responsibility would correspond to the minister of the sector, and the constitutional legal responsibility to the president, ”he sentenced.
