The former Mexican soccer player of the Chivas de Guadalajara Omar Bravo He was arrested this Saturday accused of alleged sexual abuse of a minor, confirmed the Mexican State Prosecutor’s Office of Jalisco, the west of the country. Bravo, 44, was captured in an operation in the center of Zapopan, after a complaint.
“For his alleged responsibility in the crime of aggravated child sexual abuse, elements of the Investigation Police assigned to ViceFiscalía in research specialized in attention to women, girls, children and adolescents, gender and family reason, managed to capture a man, identified as Omar ‘N’,” says a statement.
According to investigations, the retired striker would have abused a teenager on different occasions in recent months and it is presumed that he would have previously committed similar actions. Bravo was transferred to the Oral Trial Chamber of the Puente Grande prison, in Jalisco, while the Prosecutor’s Office continues the inquiries to clarify the facts.
Omar Bravo was a member of the Team of Mexico Champion of the Gold Cup in 2003 and 2009 and is considered one of the most important figures of the Chivas de Guadalajara, the top scorer of the team with 160 goals.
