The former senator of the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) Omar Aguilar resigned from the position of technical and political advisor to the El Alto Mayor’s Office, due to health problems, which he has been dragging on since 2019, and due to family issues.

“Two weeks ago I resigned from the Mayor’s Office of El Alto, which is due to a strictly health issue, since I have a dermatological problem that has afflicted me since 2019, which I could never overcome 100%,” he told Page Seven Digital.

He affirmed despite the fact that he underwent medical treatments, he could not overcome the illness in its entirety and that for months he suffered a relapse.

He also said that his departure from the Alteña municipality has to do with family issues, since he has relatives who live in the city of Sucre, and that due to work he could not be with his wife or his two children.

“Two weeks ago I submitted my resignation, which was rejected by Mayor Eva Copa, but I decided to hand over all the assets that were under my guardianship, since I had to prioritize the issue of my health,” he said.

The former parliamentarian, residing in Chuquisaca, was hired on May 5, 2021. The former legislator resigned from the party after leaving his position as a congressman.
