Olympia wins her 46th star

The last date of the Closing Tournament of Paraguayan Soccer was played in an emotional meeting, where the cup lineage of Club Olimpia managed to add one more cup to its showcase of conquests after drawing against Nacional by the score of 1 to 1.

A whole party was lived in the stands from early on where the dean’s supporters took over the Defensores del Chaco, because the panorama was quite favorable to shout Champion. A win or draw was enough to add another star.

Despite that, the black and white team experienced moments of nervousness after Nacional’s goal, which was the first to break the scoreboard, it did so in the first half of the match and it was the work of David Fleitas.

In the second supplementary euphoria came for the dean fans, the goal came through Brian Montenegro. In this way Olimpia wins the 46th cup in its sporting history and shouts champion.

LATEST CONQUESTS

Honoring its mystical cup holder, Club Olimpia imposed its hierarchy with the conquest of the Opening and Closing Tournament of 2018. It was repeated in 2019, thus raising its fourth championship in a row.

In 2020, the dean was crowned champion after winning the final of the tournament against Club Guaraní, 5-4 in the penalty shootout after drawing 2-2 at the end of 90 minutes. In 2021 he managed to win the Paraguay Cup being the first champion of that competition.
