During an interview given to RPP, Wilfredo Pedrazalawyer of the former president Ollanta Humalaindicated that he will request the Judiciary the nullity of the former advisor’s statements Martin Belaunde Lossio. He stated that both Ollanta Humala and Nadine Heredia had received $400,000 from Jorge Barata. In this regard, Pedraza reiterated that there is no evidence to support this accusation, which indicates alleged irregular contributions to the 2006 presidential campaign.
“What we have asked for is the annulment of the declaration of Martin Belaunde Lossio because it is strange that he declares as accused knowing that the day before he was already a collaborator. So, that is procedurally improper. What is more serious is that the prosecutor has remained silent in the face of such a situation and allowed this because it represents procedural disloyalty,” said former president Humala’s lawyer in the program Trial by Fire.
“They have always stated that they never received money from Venezuela and we refer to the evidence. Never, during years of investigation, was it possible to establish a single reasonable element that could allow us to say that there was money from Venezuela,” he added.
As is public knowledge, Martín Belaunde, former advisor to Ollanta Humaladeclared during the oral trial on Tuesday, November 12 that Odebrecht and the Chavista Government financed the 2006 presidential campaign. In addition, he noted that since 2018 he has participated in an effective collaboration process and that he was recently notified of the court ruling approving his benefits agreement. Given this situation, the defendants’ lawyers requested that his statement be annulled, arguing that, in his capacity as an effective collaborator, he should have testified as a witness and not as the accused.

Belaunde Lossio explained how irregular contributions were “camouflaged”
According to Belaundeformer first lady Nadine Heredia asked him, after the 2006 campaign, to get names of people to justify to the ONPE the unbanked resources entered into the party. In his statement, he mentioned that fictitious contributors were used, such as his father, Marco Tengan, Diego Vera Tudela and Luis Miguel Ramírez, in addition to others that he did not remember. He also revealed that, that same year, Heredia asked him for support to simulate income, as he planned to apply for a mortgage loan.
“Ms. Nadine Heredia tells me that she is going to buy a property and that she needed proof of income to access a mortgage loan and asks me if we can make a fictitious contract with one of my companies. We created a contract, with my company Centros Capilares, so that she could sign it. It was 30 thousand dollars for supposed advice,” he said.
