From prison, Ollanta Humala rejected the judicial process against him, which sentenced him in the first instance to 15 years in prison for the Lava Jato case, pointing out that “from the beginning” there were “abuses and blunders.”
With that argument, he announced that both his defense and that of his wife, Nadine Heredia, and the leaders of the Nationalist Party have presented evidence to appeal the aforementioned sentence, he reported on his X account.

According to the former president, the documentation demonstrates his innocence and that the acts committed against him had the supposed objective of “judicially harassing his family and locking him up.”
In that sense, he referred directly to what was presented by the Prosecutor’s Office. “An alleged campaign contribution that was neither proven nor found. A fact that even under the fiscal thesis does not constitute a crime and for which political adversaries of mine have been dismissed and their cases archived. Every day of confinement is an affront to justice, equality before the law and a kidnapping by the State,” he indicated.

The lawsuit includes the magistratesMax Vengoa,Juana CaballeroandNayko Coronadofor the alleged crimes of abuse of authority, omission, refusal or delay of functional acts, prevarication and ideological falsehood.
The Seventh Superior Criminal Corporate Prosecutor’s Office ordered the beginning of preliminary proceedings against the aforementioned judges, such as the taking of statements from Humala Tasso, the public prosecutor of the Judiciary and the magistrates. Likewise, the National Control Authority (ANC) of the judicial system was requested to send all information on the functional complaints presented by the former president against the tasks of administering justice between April 2025 and the present.
The measure also covers the record of complaints, procedures and sanctions of the aforementioned judges. In addition, the Third National Collegiate Criminal Court of the National Superior Court of Specialized Criminal Justice was requested to report on the current status of File 249-2015-78 (sentence against the Humala Heredias).
