In the opinion of the Foundation for the Development of Citizen Freedom, Panamanian Chapter of Transparency International, in these three years of the government of President Laurentino Cortizo, the Executive has not executed its legislative initiative to promote laws that improve public integrity and provide support to the citizen’s fight against corruption and impunity.

Part of this is reflected in the three-year Compliance Evaluation of President Cortizo’s administration, carried out by said foundation.

Olga de Obaldía, a member of the Libertad Ciudadana foundation, stated that unfortunately as a country we have almost nothing to show in terms of economic reactivation and job creation. “We have had an accelerated growth of the state monster, informality has increased, money is getting less and less, supplies have become more expensive and in the face of this reality, we have a government that is indolent to the reality of citizenship,” she added.

He noted that we have entered a period of greater opacity in relation to the population, less access to public information, a growth in the assembly payroll and, in the face of all this, a lack of empathy with what people feel and that generates this citizen outrage.
