Andrés Ojeda, criminal lawyer and leader of the Colorado Party, asked that Gustavo Loyal be removed as a representative of the Broad Front at the inter-party work table on security, after being accused by the prosecutor Gabriela Fossati after meeting with the father of Alejandro Astesiano.
“I think that the most reasonable thing, at this moment, is for the Broad Front to replace the person it has designated to participate in these meetings,” the leader told Underlined. “It is also clear that this is a political issue, not a legal issue,” he added.
Ojeda also stressed that he was “very surprised” that the opposition party is not going to take action, “given that the Broad Front is asking for the resignation of ministers for much lighter issues than these.”
“I am surprised that he has a yardstick to measure his own and a yardstick to measure others,” added Ojeda.
The president of the Broad Front, Fernando Pereira, announced that it is not the power of the coalition to comment on that. “In any case, the party that asks us to analyze has enough internal problems to consider that the Broad Front discuss an issue from the position of a man from the party,” said the Frente Amplio leader.
