Oil production reached an increase of 13.8% in the third quarter of the year compared to the same period in 2021, while that of natural gas increased 5.2% in relation to the same segment last year.
This is clear from the quarterly report on the energy situation prepared and published by the Ministry of Energy, in which it was found that the production of hydrocarbons registered a notable increase compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
From the report it appears that, during this period, oil production reached 8,565 Mm3, which represents an increase of 13.8% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
This production is the result of 4,849 Mm3 of conventional production and 3,715 Mm3 of unconventional production, within which the Neuquén Basin increased 28.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
For its part, natural gas production reached 139.2 MMm³/day on average, rising 5.2% compared to the same segment in 2021.
This performance represented 60.4 Mm3/day of conventional production and 78.8 Mm3/day of unconventional production, while production in the Neuquén Basin increased 10.4% year-on-year during this period.
In the case of refining, in the third quarter the volume of oil processed increased 6.6% compared to the same period of the previous year, and in particular, 61.3% of that crude corresponded to light oil.
In turn, the production of diesel increased 6.4% compared to the same quarter of the previous year and that of motorcycles (grades 2 and 3) grew 7.6%.
In sales, diesel sales grew 5.5% in the interannual segment comparison, while grade 2 and 3 gasoline sales between the two quarters increased 12.3%.
The report indicated that the growth of the hydrocarbon sector and its revitalizing effect on the economy is reflected in the increase in natural gas delivered to the industry: compared to July-September 2021, this year there was a 3.7% increase in the corresponding volume. .
