In January, the production of oil It amounted to 46.8 thousand barrels per day (MBPD), which meant a drop of 18.5% when compared to the same month in 2025, reported the National Society of Mining, Petroleum and Energy (SNMPE).
Only in the first month of the year, the largest contribution was made by Lot 95 (Loreto) with a 38.9% participation, and Lot X (Piura) with 20.5%. By companies, those with the greatest participation were Petrotal, OIG and Unna Energía.
On the other hand, the SNMPE revealed that the production of natural gas liquids (NG) reached 73.1 MBPD, that is, 9.5% more than what was recorded in the similar period last year. This is mainly explained by the good results of lots 57, 88 and 56.
As for NG, it registered an increase of 13.2% and amounted to 1,304 million cubic feet per day (MMPCD), driven by what batches 88 and 57 produced. The main companies in this case were Pluspetrol and Repsol.
“The interannual variation of natural gas liquids and natural gas was influenced by the declaration of emergency for the supply of natural gas ordered by the MINEM between the 15th and the 21st
January 2025, after damage caused by intense rains in a section of the TGP pipeline in Cusco,” the SNMPE stated.
