Oil prices end session with slight increases

New York, Dec 29 (Prensa Latina) Oil prices in the main international markets closed with slight increases today, stimulated by a weekly decline in US crude oil reserves, operators reported.

In New York, a barrel of intermediate oil from Texas (WTI) was quoted at the end of the session at 76.56 dollars, which represented a gain of 58 cents, or 0.80 percent.

According to the Department of Energy, crude inventories in this country fell in the stage by 3.6 million barrels, data that contributed to the rise in the price.

The withdrawal of gasoline stocks by 1.5 million barrels and those of distillates by 1.7 million also contributed to the rise in prices of WTI, the benchmark crude in the United States.

In this market, natural gas contracts for January delivery yielded three cents for every thousand cubic feet.

However, gasoline diesel with a supply date that month advanced more than two cents, to $ 2.27 a gallon.

On the other hand, in the London market, Brent oil from the North Sea, the benchmark in Europe, dismissed operations at 79.23 dollars a barrel, for a rise of 22 cents, that is, 0.28 percent.

Meanwhile, investors are keeping their attention on the January 4 meeting between the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies (OPEC +), who have resisted calls to increase pumping and have decided to continue with their increase. gradual agreed in July.
