The spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of three former officials for the crimes of illegal use of powers and powers committed by public servants and criminal association.
“The proceedings made it possible to identify other people who, when carrying out their functions in the previous administration in the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, possibly carried out financial activities on behalf of the aforementioned former officials,” said Lara López.
They would have served as loan officers for other former high-level public servants in the Benito Juárez government who are already facing criminal proceedings, these being Luis Vizcaíno and Nicias Aridjis, during the Von Roehrich administration.
In addition, they would allegedly be involved in a real estate corruption network that operated from the demarcation government.
“Due to its impact on the quality of life of the inhabitants of Mexico City, and in particular for residents of the Benito Juárez mayor’s office, especially people who buy in good faith, real estate in areas of high added value, built of irregularly,” the spokesperson said.
