The head of Ferrocarriles del Paraguay SA (Fepasa), Lauro Ramírez, went to the Chamber of Senators this morning, prior to the treatment of the bill “That establishes special provisions and financing for the execution and implementation of the Commuter Train in the section between the city of Asunción and the city of Ypacaraí”.

This suburban train project contemplates an investment of approximately USD 550 millionwithin 5 years, and provides for seven stations and a railway depot along 43 km from Asunción to Ypacarai.

He also commented that this suburban train project will be very different from the failed metrobústaking into account that until the train is not operational and the established grace years end, the Paraguayan State should not put money.
