MADRID, Spain.- The Cuban government decreed an official mourning in the country for this Friday for the death Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II of England.
As reported by the official media Cubans, President Miguel Díaz-Canel indicated that the duel will be in force from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on September 9, 2022.
During these hours the Cuban flag must be flown at half-staff in public buildings and in military institutions.
This Thursday, Díaz-Canel sent his condolences “to His Royal Highness, Prince Charles, to the rest of the Royal Family and to the British people and government.”

For his part, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Cuban regime, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, pointed: “On the occasion of the passing of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, I express my deepest condolences to the Royal Family, the British government and people.”

It is worth noting that in her 70-year reign, Elizabeth II never visited the island.
The death of the queen, which occurred this Thursday at the age of 96, has given way in the country to a meticulous plan of action called “Operation London Bridge”, a protocol established in the 1960s that provides detailed instructions on how to handle the first 10 days after His Majesty’s passing, ensuring a smooth transition of the throne to his eldest son, Prince Charles.
