It was an open secret and last night it was made public: Keylor Navas is a new player Newell’s Old Boys. The Argentine club announced through its official networks the hiring of the veteran Costa Rican goalkeeper, 38 years old, who had been without a team since last summer when he did not extend his contract with a PSG in which he was in the shadow of Donnarumma and even the Acatlán Arnau Tenas.

In Paris, Keylor, already retired from the Costa Rica national team, was Leo Messi’s teammate between 2021 and 2023. During that period, a good relationship was generated between the two and the Central American asked the Argentine for references. That helped him decide on the Rosario club, rejecting other proposals (San Lorenzo, Col-Colo, Gremio…). He signed a contract until June 2026.
