Official! Democratic Change confirms revocation of mandate and expulsion of deputies for not abiding by party line

Through Edict No. 19-22, the Court of Honor and Discipline of the Democratic Change Party (CD), decided to expel and revoke the mandate of the 15 dissident deputies elected for the period 2019-2024, for not abiding by the guidelines of the group.

They are deputies Nelson Jackson Palma, Arnulfo Díaz de León, Yanibel Abrego, José Herrera, Hernán Delgado, Lilia Batista, Alaín Cedeño, Leopoldo Archibold, Abelardo Quijano, Dalia Bernal, Génesis Arjona, Mayín Correa, Mercedes Gálvez, Mauricel Agrazal, Marilyn Vallarino.

Once notified, these deputies will have a term of 48 hours to appeal the decision.

These 15 deputies oppose the management of the current president of the Democratic Change Party, Rómulo Roux, and were accused of not following the line on July 1, 2021, by not voting for deputy Rony Araúz, who was the candidate of the CD bench. for the presidency of the Board of Directors of the National Assembly, and support the candidacy of the PRD deputy, Crispiano Adames.

This is added to the fact that the 15 have participated in several meetings with the Realizing Goals party, chaired by the founder of CD, former president Ricardo Martinelli.

The Prosecutor of Cambio Democrático, Raúl Andrade, presented on November 22 an appeal for expulsion and revocation of mandate against these 15 deputies. At the time, the dissident deputies filed an appeal, but it was rejected by the Court of Honor and Discipline of the CD.
