When the former Real Madrid goalkeeper, Keylor Navasreceived an offer to play in Mexico with the Pumas of the UNAMhe knew who to ask for advice. The Costa Rican goalkeeper called his former partner of Madrid, Sergio Ramos, as well as the Costa Rican coach, Miguel Herrera, before finally accepting the Pumas in the highest category, the MX League, with a contract, as reported, of one year.
The signing occurs after a six -month season in Argentina with Newell’s Old Boys. Navas, 38, was presented a few hours ago, while the Mexican team renews its workforce to try to end a 14 -year run without winning a league title. “I am here wanting to give everything, to overcome myself and be on the court playing my best level,” Navas said. “I have the mentality of making history, of being able to win a title. No details were given, but Newell’s Old Boys said he will receive 2 million dollars as part of the agreement. Navas and Ramos played together for five seasons with Madrid and then in Paris Saint-Germain. Ramos, 39, signed with the Mexican Monterrey earlier this year.
