With the start of the South American Games that starts from today 01, until October 15 in our country, the Ministry of Health makes several establishments available to athletes that will be available to provide specialized assistance in cases that require it. However, the organization provides private medical insurance to the teams, athletes, judges and staff of the same.
The hospitals that make up the network are:
Manuel Giagni Trauma Hospital,
Center for Burns and Reconstructive Surgeries (CENQUER),
National Medical Center,
National Institute of Respiratory and Environmental Diseases (INERAM),
National Institute of Cardiology (San Jorge),
General Hospital of Luque,
General Hospital of Villa Elisa and the
San Lorenzo General Hospital.
In addition to the General Hospital of Lambaré,
San Pablo Maternal and Child General Hospital,
Barrio Obrero General Hospital,
Trinidad Maternal and Child Hospital,
Maternal and Child Hospital of Loma Pytá,
District Hospital of Mariano Roque Alonso,
Fernando de la Mora Maternal and Child Hospital,
Encarnacion Regional Hospital,
Regional Hospital of Ciudad del Este and the
President Franco District Hospital.
As for the transfer services, they will be carried out through the Extra-Hospital Medical Emergency Service (SEME), which has six vehicle units, three of them for advanced support (ICU) and three for basic support. Likewise, the number can be increased according to the needs or situations that arise during the event.
Likewise, the National Laboratory Network will be present at two points to take COVID-19 and blood samples. One of them in the National Sports Secretariat (SND) and another in the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP).
On the other hand, the Main Operations Center (MOC) is planned, a Control and Monitoring center where different institutions and security organizations, including the health portfolio, will be coordinating the actions to be implemented during the two weeks of the games.
