The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights defenders said that the Andreína and Margareth Baduel sisters have been harassed and monitored by police officers since June, after denouncing the serious violations against political prisoners in a public public activity
The Observatory for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders requested to investigate the acts of police surveillance and harassment to which Andreína and Margareth Baduel have been submitted, for whom urgent protection measures were requested.
In a statement, diffused For the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners, it was pointed out that the request “arises after a campaign of surveillance, harassment and persecution that intensified since June 18, 2025, after a press conference made by the CLIPPVE at the Central University of Venezuela, where serious human rights violations against persons deprived of liberty for political reasons were denounced.”
The Observatory, made up of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the World Organization against torture (WTO), warned about the “serious risk” in which the Baduel family is located, so they consider urgent to implement the precautionary measures issued by the IACHR in favor of Andreína Baduel on June 12.

Andreína Baduel has denounced being a victim of follow -up in unidentified vehicles, unauthorized photographs and daily police surveillance in front of her home. In the case of Margareth Baduel, it was pointed out that it has been pursued, recorded and surrounded by “vehicles with hooded officials and without official identification, repeatedly.”
The Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners, of which both are activists, also requested that those responsible for this surveillance campaign be investigated and sanctioned, which was qualified as illegal.
He also demanded that the precautionary measures granted by the IACHR be fulfilled immediately, “all forms of harassment and intimidation” against human rights defenders are stopped and “the security and freedom of action of those who formed the committee” are guaranteed.
