Eleven countries in the OAS are once again promoting a draft resolution on the situation in Venezuela after July 28
The Organization of American States (OAS) will hold an extraordinary session on the afternoon of Friday, August 16, to vote on a new draft resolution on the post-electoral situation in Venezuela to request, once again, the publication of data disaggregated by voting centers and tables.
The project is being promoted at the OAS on the initiative of the United States, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Canada, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Paraguay, the Dominican Republic, Suriname and Uruguay. They also call for respect for the fundamental principle of popular sovereignty through an “impartial verification” of the results.

They also demand that “all equipment used in the electoral process be protected and preserved, including all printed minutes and results, in order to safeguard the entire chain of custody of the voting process.”
The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) failed to obtain the 18 votes to approve a resolution that would evaluate the disputed results of the presidential elections in Venezuela. One of the objectives was to request the administration of Nicolás Maduro to publish the complete results and voting records.

The meeting began more than two and a half hours late due to disagreements over a phrase in the draft resolution, said Permanent Council President Ronald Sanders, without giving further details. The OAS call for action was made following a request from 12 member countries.
During a session called for the Wednesday, July 31stthe voting round was as follows: 17 votes in favor, zero against, 11 abstentions and five absent delegations:
