On the eve of the arrival of the high-level group sent by the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS), the agenda is still unclear. Although the invitation to different State powers has been confirmed, the locations and times of the meetings are unknown.
Through the letters received by the spokespersons of the benches, it was learned that the special mission had scheduled meetings at the Swissôtel hotel, in San Isidro.
However, sources from the Mayor’s Office specified to Peru21 that the appointment with the head of the Congress, José Williams (Avanza País), will take place at the headquarters of the Congress, on Abancay avenue.
The agenda in San Isidro
On November 9 the Chancellery Peruvian suggested that Williams meet with the OAS delegation on Monday, November 21, at 10:00 a.m.
Through a letter, it was also suggested that the spokespersons of the benches be able to do so the same day, at 11:30 a.m.
Apparently, the agenda imposed by the Executive would have had variations. Yesterday morning it was confirmed, through a letter, that the high-level group had sent non-grouped legislators, who would receive them on Tuesday, November 22, at 1:00 pm at the Swissôtel.
“We welcome the positive response from the OAS to meet on Tuesday the 22nd and present our position on the political crisis, the fallacy of the coup and the support of the third vacancy motion”, wrote Edward Malaga on Twitter.
In dialogue with this outlet, the APP spokesperson, Alejandro Soto He questioned that the mission does not go to Parliament for its meetings with party spokesmen. “We have all the conditions to receive them”, he commented.
It turned out that the spokespersons close to the Palace who made an appointment with the OAS are Guillermo Bermejo, Jorge Marticorena, Ruth Luque, Óscar Zea, the accused ‘child’ Elvis Vergara, and Milagros Rivas. Flor Pablo was also invited.
Keep in mind
- Only on Thursday was it confirmed that the OAS contacted the Ombudsman’s Office and the Public Ministry to meet with their heads.
- The National Association of Journalists, the CPP, the College of Journalists of Lima and SNRTV are still awaiting confirmation.
