Nursing home wall in Huancavelica is still waiting to be repaired

It’s been two months since the rear wall of the Santa Teresa de Jornet nursing home fell, and until now the authorities have not taken concrete action on the matter.

As we reported, in December of last year, the back wall of the nursing home fell due to the constant clearing that was thrown in that area, so in order to rebuild it was necessary for the Ascensión District Municipality to remove all of it, however, the beginning of the political crisis and the constant mobilizations in said month, generated delays in this work.

The procedures have changed and to date there is no clear answer, so it is necessary to rebuild this wall, since the safety of the more than 70 elderly people who live in the nursing home is in danger of being robbed, in addition of having their belongings stolen again.

Faced with this situation, the director of the asylum, Orlanda Montes, sent documents requesting emergency support to the mayor of Huancavelica, Toribio Castro Cornejo; Governor Leoncio Huayllani, hoping for a quick solution.
