Epidemiological crisis in Cuba
Cuba is currently going through a complex epidemiological scenario due to arboviruses, aggravated by the severe economic and energy crisis on the island.

Dr. Carilda Peña García, also vice minister of the sector, explained that during the last week a significant increase in non-specific febrile syndromes was reported, with 109 municipalities that increased medical care for this cause.
“The positivity of the IGM test for dengue also increased, which shows active transmission in several provinces,” said the official. In turn, he pointed out that Guantánamo, Matanzas, Sancti Spíritus, Ciego de Ávila and Villa Clara have the highest rates of suspected cases.
The authorities assure that “actions are being carried out that seek to cut the chain of transmission of the Aedes aegypti mosquito”, which maintains a high rate of infestation on the island.
