A 13-year-old girl escaped from a shark attack Thursday on a beach in Florida (USA) after punch him in the face.
Teenager Ella Reed was sitting waist deep in water on North Jetty Beach in Fort Pierce when a shark almost 2 meters longwhich had been swimming nearby, sank its teeth into his side.
“He shark itself was very strong. That was what I felt the most, because my stomach was hitting me very hard ”, said to Local 10 News.
As he recounted, to repel the attack he punched the animal in the face. The shark then moved away, but returned almost immediately, forcing her to fight back again. “would not leave me aloneso I had to use my arm and use my hand too, so it caught my arm and my finger.”
When he reached the shore, the minor called FaceTimed her brother to tell him that she had been attacked. Her mother heard her and thought she was joking, until she lowered the camera to show them her injuries. A friend of hers took her back to her house, where her mother was waiting for her and took her to the fire station.
“It was crazy, because was completely covered in blood from head to toe, so I couldn’t really see what was going on,” the woman said. “She was shaking, but she was calm,” she added.
Firefighters took the teen to the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries. With injuries to his stomach, arm, knee and finger, had to receive 19 points. “He was a bit in ‘shock’ from everything that happened, so he I didn’t have much pain because the adrenaline was through the roof,” said the youngest.
She is currently recovering at home and says she is proud of her scars, knowing that the attack could have been much worse. Also, she assured that she plans to return to the water when she fully recovers.
Florida is considered the shark attack capital of the world. Of the 57 unprovoked shark bites recorded in 2022the US state recorded 16.
