
A 25-year-old nurse died on October 3 in the Cuamatology Unit of the Antonio María Pineda Central Hospital in Barquisimeto, Lara state, due to severe burns she suffered after being doused with gasoline by his partner of 50 years.
The attack against Roxana Parra occurred on September 28 at her residence, an old warehouse converted into a home in the Tamarindo sector, Bolívar municipality, Yaracuy state, during an argument with the man.
The woman managed to ask for help after leaving the property, but the flames spread to various parts of his body. A few minutes later she was transferred to the local hospital and then to the Barquisimeto medical center.

The man also set fire to the aforementioned warehouse and was arrested by the state police hours after the event. Neighbors indicated that the argument arose because Parra wanted to end the relationship.

Nursing union demands justice
The nursing union in Aroa, Bolívar municipality of Yaracuy state, asked this Sunday for justice for Parra’s death.
