Nuns of the Poor Fraternity of Jesus Christ, forced to leave Nicaragua

The Ministry of the Interior did not renew the residence permit of the sisters of the Poor Fraternity of Jesus Christ. This was revealed by a source close to the nuns in the middle Confidentialwithout providing more details of the reasons given by the state institution.

The sisters arrived in the country in 2016. Since then, their mission has been to provide food, clothing, and prayers to the people who live on the streets of the western department. In July 2022, almost a year ago, the dictatorial government of Daniel Ortega ordered the departure of 18 Missionary nuns of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta order. The nuns administered the Immaculate Heart of Mary Home.
