Since the economic recovery in August last year, after the most acute period of the covid-19 pandemic, the Board of Trade of the State of São Paulo (Jucesp), registered more than 213 thousand new companies, until April 2022.
The result represents an increase of 6.19% in the number of new CNPJs, compared to the same period of the previous year – from August 2020 to April 2021 -, when 200,691 constitutions were registered. Jucesp is linked to the Secretariat of Economic Development.
The segments that opened the most companies were health, education and communication. The highlight is education, which saw the opening of 6,462 enterprises against 5,726 between August 2020 and April 2021, an increase of 12.8%.
According to the Undersecretary for Technical and Vocational Education of the Secretariat for Economic Development, Natalia Vido, the increase represents the sum of efforts by the sector to resume education, since in the most critical period of the pandemic many schools closed.
“I believe that this period showed the importance of new educational methodologies, such as the use of technology for learning and coexistence among students. The recovery of learning and long-term advances to support youth are necessarily a joint effort, which involves different actors plus society”, analyzed Natalia.
According to Jucesp, the technology sector also recorded positive impacts during this recovery, as new technologies will be fundamental for organizations and companies to remain competitive in the coming years.
“One of the reflexes of the covid-19 pandemic was the acceleration in the digital transformation of companies. This opened space for those businesses that seek to develop and offer innovative and efficient technological solutions”, said the undersecretary of Science, Technology and Innovation, Rafael Andery.
