The former senator of the Broad Front (FA) Rafael Michelini and his sector Nuevo Espacio will support the candidacy of Caroline Cosse in the internal ones of the left coalition.
The Executive Board of the sector issued a statement last Saturday confirming support for the mayor of Montevideo over the mayor of Canelones Yamandú Orsi. However, New Canelones Space will support Orsi, unlike the rest of the sector at the national level. This is because the alliance that Nuevo Espacio integrates into the Zelmar Michelini Canary Front (FCZM) in the department of Canelones implies “various sensitivities” that force an exception to the definition adopted on a national basis. In this sense, it was reported that the corresponding mechanisms will be enabled in that department so that the FCZM can appear in the internal elections supporting the candidacy of Yamandú Orsi.
“Carolina Cosse (president) and Yamandú Orsi (vice president)that is the formula (that the FA must have in the national elections),” said Michelini in dialogue with Telemundo (Channel 12).
The leader stated that Cosse should go as president because “she is more expeditious”On the other hand, Orsi should be vice president because “he is more of a composer and articulator” and added “we need a great articulator in Parliament.”
For Michelini there should be no more candidates in the FA internalThus, on the night of the closing of the internal elections, “the one who wins, wins. And the other accompanies”.
