The works included the improvement of 2,000 meters of streets, 1,800 meters of cordon and a bridge. The general coordinator of the Decentralization and Cohesion Area of the Planning and Budget Office (OPP), María de Lima, highlighted the compliance of the Colonia Municipality in the execution of works and announced that this department will have more than 180,000 in 2023. 000 pesos for new projects. Colonia is one of the departments in the country with the best compliance deadlines, it executes the projects “in time and form,” indicated De Lima, in dialogue with Presidential Communication, after the inauguration. De Lima highlighted that 100% of the 79,000,000 pesos granted for works through the Interior Development Fund (FDI) were used. Meanwhile, of 82,000,000 pesos provided by the Municipal Management Incentive Fund for the same purpose, more than 90% has been executed to date.
The hierarch specified that, with the money allocated, works are also currently being carried out in Colonia del Sacramento and Carmelo.
In addition, he announced that, in 2023, the OPP will allocate some 102,000,000 pesos to the municipalities of Colonia. Likewise, the administration will receive about 80,000,000 pesos through the FDI.
