Due to the prolonged outages of 10, 12 and 14 hours a day in Nueva Esparta, the Bar Association urged President Nicolás Maduro and the governor to declare the entity in emergency. They also asked for a rationing schedule.
The board of directors of the Nueva Esparta State Bar Association urged state and regional authorities to declare a state of emergency in the entity, due to power outages that have lasted up to 14 hours for several days.
In a letter dated November 19, the college agreed to urge the governor of Nueva Esparta, Morel Rodríguez Ávila, to request the Minister of Electric Energy, Jorge Márquez, for a prompt and urgent solution to the situation that the entity is experiencing.
Due to the prolonged outages of 10, 12 and 14 hours a day, they urged President Nicolás Maduro and the governor to declare the Nueva Esparta state in emergency and also asked for a schedule of the outages.

“There has been no coordination between the general management of Corpoelec, the regional government and the community so that people can be prepared and alert to the consequences that may arise from these rationing due to the continuous electrical outages,” reads part of the text.
The institution recalled that it is the duty of the State to ensure compliance with the rights enshrined in the Constitution, such as the right to work and that the energy crisis in the island region has led to excessive food lossdamage to refrigerators, air conditioners.
Various business and social unions have spoken out in recent days asking the authorities for a prompt solution, as well as reporting on the actions and plans that are being taken to resolve the failures that burden the non-Spartan population.
