NTABACO creates artisans to expand the development of the industry in the country

NTABACO crea artesanos ampliar el desarrollo de la industria en el país

Saint Dominic.- The Tobacco Institute of the Dominican Republic (INTABACO) celebrated today the graduation of 17 young artisans specialized in the production of cigars, trained thanks to the 14/24 Program executed by the Social Policy Cabinet.

This ceremony marks the thirty-fifth (XXXV) graduation and second in management of the executive director of INTABACO, Iván Hernández Guzmán.

The course, taught at the facilities of the INTABACOwas guided by instructors specialized in the tobacco industry, who accompanied the participants in the development of their skills to join the productive sector.

Present at the event were Iván Hernández Guzmán, director of INTABACO; Luis Tejeda, Industrial Director; Mercedes Henríquez, tobacco instructor; Juliana Reyes, in charge of Scholarships and Special Programs of the 14/24 Program; and Anny Reyes, coordinator of the Program at the institution.

The activity was carried out in coordination with the Social Policy Cabinet of the Presidencyas part of the efforts of the 14/24 Program to offer training and employability opportunities to young people in vulnerable situations.

During his speech, director Iván Hernández Guzmán highlighted the importance of this initiative for the institution and for the professional development of the participants. “These activities are among the most important for INTABACO.

Your growth will depend on your effort and dedication; Without those ingredients, the certificate means nothing. Nothing is achieved without sacrifice. “Discipline is the best tool to achieve success,” he stated.

The words of gratitude were given by the graduating Angela Mariela Torreswho expressed the pride and motivation that the program has given to all participants.

Opportunity 14/24 is an inter-institutional initiative coordinated by the Social Policy Cabinet.

Its mission is to promote inclusion socioeconomic status of young people between 14 and 24 years who are outside the educational and/or labor system, belonging to households in highly vulnerable conditions.

The program offers social services and training opportunities that contribute to improving their quality of life and strengthening their possibilities for productive integration.
