Now yes, Ancelotti will coach Brazil!

The Italian Carlo Ancelotti will be the technician Brazil from the America’s Cup 2024, which will be organized in June and July of next year in the United States, once his contract with Real Madrid ends, a Brazilian soccer source told AFP on Tuesday. Confederation (CBF).

The CBF also said in a statement, minutes before, that Fernando Diniz (Fluminense) would lead the five-time world champion until Ancelotti takes over. The 64-year-old Italian coach has a contract with Real Madrid until June 2024 and has publicly said that he wants to continue until then.

This announcement, made by a high-level source within the CBF who did not want to be named, ends months of negotiations between the European and the head of the Brazilian federation, Ednaldo Rodrigues, who has always considered Ancellotti his favorite.

The Brazilian coach Tite, in charge since 2016, left his duties after the defeat against Croatia in the quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar in December.

Ancelotti will become the fourth foreigner to take the reins of the Seleçao, the first in almost 60 years. The Italian, however, had declared on several occasions that he would retire after this last spell at Real, after almost thirty years on the sidelines. But he finally allowed himself to be seduced by Brazil, a country where soccer is king.

The challenge is daunting: the five-time world champions are chasing their sixth star in more than twenty years and their last title in 2002.
