Complex with illuminated court inaugurated the Artigas de Melo Club
In an event that was attended by the main departmental authorities -the Mayor and President of the Board-, the President of the Interior Football Organization, leaders of clubs that are part of the Departmental Football Association, footballers, former footballers and public in general, the lighting network was officially enabled in one of the fields of the complex located on Route 8 to Aceguá, a property that is less than a kilometer from the urban plant.
“It is a pleasure to share this moment with Artigas’ friends, a pleasure to be in the institution that undoubtedly has the most fans in the department. Everyone knows that a classic rivalry unites me or separates me that at this moment has nothing to do with it because these are hours of great joy.” summarized Sebastian Sosa.
“Personally, I pay a lot of attention to the issue of infrastructure. OFI’s contribution is minimal, but it is important because it is a boost for the institutions” he added.
“I want to ask you to know how to take advantage of the interior champions that you have here, some at the national team level, but many others from clubs that are the only ones in Cerro Largo” remarked the President of the OFI.
“Let’s hope they know how to take advantage of other people like Macado –by Antonio Ubilla- which is undoubtedly a glory of Cerro Largo and interior football. I hope the new generations adopt these figures as an example. I am glad that with the property Artigas has resumed a path that at the time had a training club and sporting achievements that are to come.” said Sebastián Sosa.
MORE THAN A SPORTS INSTITUTION
“As Departmental Mayor, but as a person linked to football, we were very happy to receive the invitation to share this great day that Artigas is experiencing” he started saying José Yurramendi.
He added that this step taken by the Rincón Artigas Street institution not only translates into growth in terms of infrastructure, but also materializes a new stage.
“Artigas is much more than a sports institution, it is a social bastion, it is something that penetrates each and every one of the actions of the department” emphasized the Mayor of Cerro Largo.
He reiterated that the Departmental Executive will continue to support all types of sports projects in the same way that was done with this institution in its Children’s Soccer complex some time ago.
He recalled that shortly after taking over as head of the Municipality, he held a meeting with Presidents and Delegates of the clubs to express the full support of the Government of Cerro Largo. “We believe that it should be the mother institution that supports, that supports, the efforts of a great institution in which, as in all of them, 4 or 5 end up working” Yurramendi pointed out. “There the Municipality has to be supporting, not doing everything, but supporting those who do things well” said. “There are people here who do things well, who for many years have put love, heart, time and money so that children and young people can practice competitive sports, but also social fraternization” the Communal Chief stressed.
“We value this new stage of Artigas. From this place, without a doubt, growth will be generated from a sporting perspective, but also from a social and institutional perspective. This lighting will allow more hours of the day to be used. Nowadays it is necessary to have lights for sports practice” José Yurramendi ended by saying.
