The internal frictions in the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS) took a turn this Wednesday when the legislators assured that the interpellation to the Minister of GovernmentEduardo Del Castillo, approved on Tuesday by the MAS party, had already been agreed upon previously.
“It must be clarified that the interpellation is not due to the unfortunate statement (of the minister), they are management issues. ANDWhat’s more, we had raised the question weeks before; last week we signed an interpellation, which has been sent through regular channels”, declared the deputy, Renán Cabezas.
On Tuesday a meeting was held between the Minister of Government and the bench of senators and deputies of the MAS, where Del Castillo had to explain his statements about a deputy from the blue party, who would be taking advantage of his position to obtain coca marketing permits.
Senator Félix Ajpi also said that this interpellation will not be due to del Castillo’s statements. but it had already been approved a long time ago.
On the other front are the deputies and senators who assure that This interpellation was approved after the meeting with the Minister of Government. Senator Leonardo Loza declared that the dignitary did not specify which deputy he was referring to when he launched the accusation in his speech and that bothered the MAS bench, which resolved the interpellation.
Deputy Cabezas said that now, the questioning session is in the hands of Vice President David Choquehuanca, who will set the date and time for the minister’s appearance. Even though So far, the interpellatory statement is not known.nor the questions of the same and the reason why Del Castillo will be summoned.
The Minister of Government is in the crosshairs of the social organizations that support the MAS government since December of last year. The pact of unity first, and then, the head of the MAS himself, Evo Morales, asked for Del Castillo’s dismissal and President Luis Arce did not agree to those demands.
