The former official assured that acts of corruption were committed under his management, which were configured in the collection of fees from contractors who carried out works during the PRI’s administration.
According to the witness, the fees charged to the contractors were used to acquire properties in Coahuila, Morelos and Mexico City, as well as to give bribes to the media and to finance political campaigns, reveal journalists such as Arturo Ángel, who closely follow the trial in New York.

García Luna tried to sell “Pagausus”
Villarreal Fernández calculated that between 2006 and 2011 around 200 million dollars, of which at least 40 million were allocated to the former PRI governor.
According to the journalist, Jesús García, during the trial Villareal declared that he met García Luna when he tried to sell the Moreira government the “Pegasus” software, a program that in Mexico has been used to spy on politicians, activists and journalists.

The witness, who is subjected to questioning this Monday on the 11th day of hearings, pleaded guilty to money laundering in the United States and conspiracy to transport illicit money. In 2012 it was arrested for carrying more than $60,000 in cash.
