The Government, through the Ministry of Commerce, launched a new financing program for the purchase of cell phones: now 10. Through this initiative, cell phone prices will be frozen for a period of 90 days.
The program will allow citizens to acquire the equipment in up to 10 fixed installments, in addition to the now 10 will offer a preferential rate of 48%, as explained by the Secretary of Commerce Matías Tombolini.
The Government also announced that, parallel to the operation of the now 10Now 12 will again finance the purchase of mobile telephony equipment in 3.6 and 12 fixed monthly installments with credit cards.
With the agreement signed with the main cell phone brands in the country, it will promote and facilitate the purchase of this equipment, especially during the Christmas celebrations.
The agreement will be valid until March 15, 2023, and includes 70 models and equipment formatswhich will be available in more than 2,000 stores across the country.
After the launch of the program, the Minister of the Economy, Sergio Massa, stated: “it is very important to give people certainty when they are going to make a purchase” and remarked that “we understand that achieving fiscal order, a surplus in our trade balance and accumulation of reserves it has to be accompanied by an economy that does not curb consumption”.
The negotiation that was signed voluntarily with the companies, adds to the rest of the strategies that the Government has implemented in recent months to try to contain the effects of inflation, including Now 30 and Fair Prices.
What brands can you buy?
The program includes 70 cell phone models from brands such as: Samsung, Motorola, Noblex, Alcatel, Philco, TCL and ZTE, all manufactured in the national territory. There will be low, medium and high ranges, with prices from 40,000 to 250,000 pesos.
Through this initiative, the Government expects to sell one million pieces of equipment per month. Purchases can be made through physical establishments or official web pages of businesses participating in the program.
