The national government, from the Ministry of Economy, led by Sergio Massa, and the Secretary of Domestic Trade, preceded by Matías Tombolini, announced the launch of the program now 10which sets the maximum prices for mobile devices for 90 days.
This initiative of price regulation, through a voluntary agreement with companies in the field, joins the efforts to provide economic certainty to the population. After the launch of Fair Prices, which guarantees the freezing of prices on mass consumption items or, failing that, a limit of 4% monthly increases until March, this initiative arises to buy cell phones in 10 installments, Now 10.
The agreement reached with manufacturers and distributors, makes available 72 cell phone models of the main brands. In this way, 2,000 outlets throughout the country adhered to the proposal of now 10. The most recognized brands in the industry that are in the agreement are Xiaomi, Samsung and Noblex.
In the words of the minister Massa: “it is very important to establish a maximum price criteria until March 15” to “give people certainty when they are going to make a purchase”. He also stresses that “achieving fiscal order, a surplus in the trade balance, and the accumulation of reserves must be accompanied by an economy that does not curb consumption.”
For his part, Secretary Tombolini said that “the price agreement is essential. We cannot stop paying attention to consumption and we are committed to returning to the levels of cell phone sales and production that Argentina used to have”.
The Now 12 and Now 30 plan
It is worth remembering the two proposals that also allow you to purchase mobile devices with different financing plans, the Now 12 and the Now 30. In the case of the first, cellular equipment can be purchased in 3, 6 or 12 fixed monthly installments, both in digital (online) and physical stores throughout the territory.
The Now 30, for its part, contemplates the purchase of national production or assembly appliances that are financed at half the official rate. This plan, which is already in force, will be extended until January 31 of next year.
