Starting this Friday (1st), the month of November will have above-average rainfall in a large part of the Southeast region, Goiás, central-east of Mato Grosso, Acre, Roraima, northwest and southeast of Amazonas. The forecast is from the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet)linked to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Rio Grande do Sul will have precipitation in the normal range, with some locations above average.
For a large part of the Northeast region, north-central Pará, Amapá, Roraima, as well as in the southwest of Mato Grosso do Sul and Mato Grosso, rains close to and below the average for the month are forecast.
Soy
Inmet estimates that this little rain for the northeast of the Amazon region and a significant part of the Northeast region could make it difficult to plant soybeans with the reduction in soil moisture levels, especially in the region that covers the states of Maranhão, Tocantins, Piauí and Bahia – area known as Matopiba.
The climate forecast for the Central-West and Southeast regions in this 11th month of the year is for more regular rains, which should favor the planting and development of first-crop crops.
In much of the South region, there will be rainfall close to the historical average and soil moisture levels will remain high, which could benefit winter crops – in the grain filling phase and the development of the 2024/2025 harvest.
Temperatures
Meteorological information from Inmet also indicates that temperatures are expected to be above average in a large part of the country.
Specifically in northern areas of the North and Northeast regions, days of excessive heat can have average temperatures above 28 degrees Celsius (ºC).
However, in locations in the east of the Southeast and South regions, due to the occurrence of consecutive days with rain, temperatures will be close to or slightly below average.
