With the authorization of the border crossing between the port of the city Pilar and Colonia Cano, Argentine Republic, a first day with a massive influx of people is recorded at the migration post in the capital of the department of Ñeembucú.
“The work, even though the process of letting people out is a bit slow, is developing normally,” Carlos Antonio López, the head of migrations in Pilar, Mr. David Frutos, told Radio Nacional on Tuesday.
He mentioned that the documentation required to enter the Argentine Republic is the vaccination card, complete scheme, affidavit and international medical insurance against covid-19.
«We do a pre-filter here so that people do not go to immigration in Argentina and bounce or are expelled for not having those documents. If they have all the documentation, the pertinent exit is made from here. To enter Paraguay, only the vaccination booklet is required, a complete scheme », he explained.
Frutos indicated that people must make their exit, both Paraguayans and foreigners as well as the entrance. “Many people say I am Paraguayan, they still have to make the entrance. Everyone has to make their entrance and exit », he remarked.
On the other hand, he highlighted that on the first day more than 120 people had already made arrangements to travel to the Argentine Republic. He clarified that in the institution, as far as possible, they try to be guides to those interested in traveling to the neighboring country, in order to provide data that they need in relation to the affidavit.
Finally, Pilar’s immigration chief recalled that the office is open continuously, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. “It is a busy day because we did not expect this number of people. Hopefully it will return to normality and that we all work,” concluded David Frutos.
