The president of Confecamaras, Julián Domínguez, installed the Congress “Nothing stops us. Cameras and companies that build future” With a call to maintain the collective leadership of the Chambers of Commerce and to defend democracy through consensus and dialogue. During his speech, he stressed that the future of the Cameral Network will depend on maintaining unity, acting with ethics and building with hope in the midst of a changing environment.

Dominguez also emphasized that democracy is not protected with impositions, but with collective principles, ideas and actions. In his speech, he stressed that authentic leadership is measured by the confidence he inspires, not by the power he concentrates. He also urged the cameras to continue transforming with purpose and commitment to the country.


During the event, the achievements achieved in their management were recognized, including the modernization of the cameral system, the implementation of territorial surveillance and management programs, and access to credit for more than 406,000 entrepreneurs. The consolidation of public-private alliances as state policies and the continuity of the competitiveness system was also highlighted.


For his part, the president of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogotá, Ovidio Claros, paid tribute to Domínguez for his leadership and encouraged him to continue contributing to the Network. Claros highlighted the internationalization of products and services of Colombian businessmen, even of entrepreneurs of the popular economy, who have managed to take their marks to global scenarios such as Pazes de New York.
Within the framework of Congress, 14 presidents of Chambers and the House of Representatives honored Domínguez for their 15 years of work. He received the order of democracy Simón Bolívar, Grand Degree Gran Cruz Caballero, and a medal delivered by the Medellín Chamber of Commerce. He also received recognition messages from leaders such as Iván Duque, Marta Lucía Ramírez and Álvaro Uribe Vélez, who highlighted their role in key moments such as Pandemia.
Finally, Julián Domínguez officially presented his successor, Nicolás Botero, whom he described as a professional, human and committed leader with the country. With this relay, a new stage for Confecamaras begins, which will continue to face great challenges such as business transformation, institutional strengthening and support for thousands of entrepreneurs in all regions of Colombia.
