Sport got a 1-1 draw with Fortaleza, on the night of this Thursday (31) at Arena Pernambuco, in the first leg of the big decision of the Copa do Nordeste.

This is the first time that Leão do Pici and Leão da Ilha decide the title of the competition. Fortaleza fights for the second championship (after winning in 2019), while Sport seeks the fourth championship (after winning in 1994, 2000 and 2014).
In a very disputed match, the team from Ceará opened the scoreboard only in the 39th minute of the second half, when Juninho Capixaba advanced on the left, scored with Moisés and found Zé Welison at the entrance of the area. The steering wheel dominated and released a shot to score a great goal.

And when everything seemed to be heading towards Fortaleza’s triumph, Sport managed to leave everything equal in the 46th minute, when forward Bill took advantage of the ball raised in the area to score with a header.
Now, Fortaleza and Sport will face each other again next Sunday (3), at Castelão from 18:30 (Brasilia time), to decide who gets the title of the Northeast Cup.
