The Pyongyang regime later said it was testing a “new type of intermediate-range surface-to-surface ballistic missile” and that, along with other tests, they were “tactical nuclear exercises” simulating an attack on Korea.
This launch series coincides with the deployment of the largest aerial military maneuvers ever carried out by the United States and South Korea, with hundreds of planes mobilized by both sides.
