The Council of Ministers agreed on measures to prevent attacks by native communities, such as the North Peruvian Pipelinewhich suffered cuts and therefore the oil spill, Prime Minister Aníbal Torres reported on Wednesday.
“We will resolve social conflicts through dialogue, as we have been doing, and where it is not possible, that is where the law comes in, which is constituted through norms characterized by coerciveness, that is, the possibility of using force institutionalized by the State. The law says when, where, by whom and to what extent force must be used”, Torres said at a press conference.
He added that they will not allow a case like what happened in the Norperuano Pipeline “That certain members of some communities cut the oil pipeline and then the claims come to correct the tube and clean the waters, that is going to have to end according to law. In the Council of Ministers we have agreed that this is how it has to be”.
It should be noted that the manager of Sustainable Development of Petroperú, Juan del Carmen Gallarday Pretto, stated a few days ago that the recent oil leak, detected in the pipeline of the Norperuano Pipeline, in the Cuninico ravine, in the district of Urarinas (Loreto) , was the product of an intentional cut by third parties.
In this sense, the president of the Council of Ministers assured that full security will be given to national and foreign investment, because “this is the one that generates wealth and provides jobs.”
In turn, the premier stated that “They are making the decision to protect mining and agricultural activities, as well as other productive activities that are carried out in the country.”.
