Agricultural activity is an important sector in the economy, it is part of Peruvian culture and it is essential to feed millions of households.

This Friday, June 24, will be a non-working day, which will be added to the weekend so that workers can carry out internal tourism and promote the economic reactivation of the country.

WILL YOU PAY TRIPLE IF I WORK ON JUNE 24?

No. Farmers’ Day is declared a non-working day, so if you work, you will be paid as a normal day. If you rest, you must replace the hours within a period of ten days immediately after or at the opportunity established by the head of each public entity, in accordance with the Supreme Decree 033-2022-PCM.

How does the non-working day work for the public sector?

Friday, June 24, is a non-working day for public sector workers, but they must make up the hours not worked that day.

How does the non-working day work for the private sector?

The decree indicates that the private sector may take advantage of this rest, prior agreement between employers and workers. If they don’t agree, the employer can tell.

WILL PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES STOP ATTENDING?

The entities of the public sector will adopt the necessary measures to guarantee the provision of those services that are essential for society, during the non-working day. The workers of the following services must continue working:

Sanitary and health services.
Cleaning and sanitation.
Electricity, water and drainage.
Gas and fuel.
Funerals.
Communications and telecommunications.
Transportation, ports, airports.
Security, custody, surveillance and transfer of values.
Sale of groceries and food.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A HOLIDAY AND A NON-WORKING DAY?

See what the difference is:

Holiday: It is a day of rest established, through a law, for the public and private sectors and must be paid by the employer with the ordinary remuneration of the working day. If the worker works and is not granted an additional rest day to enjoy it, he must be paid triple.

Holiday: are established by decree. In these cases there is no remuneration, but if the worker rests that day, he must compensate the hours within a period of days.
