“No one tells us what to do”: Miguel Díaz-Canel and Bruno Rodríguez attack Trump

The Castro leaders responded to the notice published this Sunday in Truth Social by President Donald Trump.

LIMA, Peru – Cuban dictator Miguel Díaz-Canel and Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez attacked the United States this morning, just minutes after the warning published in Truth Social by President Donald Trump to the Castro regime.

“Those who turn everything into business, including human lives, have no morals to point out Cuba for anything, absolutely nothing,” wrote the island’s ruler.

As is usual in the official speech of the regime, Díaz-Canel blamed Washington’s embargo for “the severe economic shortcomings” existing in Cuba and ratified “the sovereign decision” of the people “to choose their political model.”

“Cuba is a free, independent and sovereign nation. Nobody tells us what to do. Cuba does not attack, it was attacked by the United States 66 years ago, and it does not threaten, it prepares, willing to defend the Homeland to the last drop of blood,” he stated through a thread in X (formerly Twitter).

For his part, Foreign Minister Rodríguez stated that The Island does not receive “nor has it ever received” monetary or material compensation for the security services it has provided to any country.

Likewise, the minister affirmed that Cuba “has the absolute right” to import fuel from markets willing to export it and that “they exercise their own right to develop their commercial relations without the interference or subordination” of the White House.

“The US behaves like a criminal and uncontrolled hegemon that threatens peace and security, not only in Cuba and this hemisphere, but in the entire world,” Rodríguez accused.

The capture of Nicolás Maduro in Caracas has been a serious blow to the dictatorship in Isla, his main ally. After the fall of the Soviet socialist camp, in the 90s Havana found in Chavismo a lifeline where it could reestablish the parasitic relationship that it now sees threatened.

This Sunday, the president of the United States, Donald Trump, published this message on his account Social Truth recommending that the Cuban regime negotiate “before it is too late.”

The president recalled that the Island was sustained, for many years, by large amounts of oil and money from Venezuela. In exchange, Castroism provided “security services” to the last two Venezuelan dictators, Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro.

“But not that anymore!” Trump emphasized. “Most of those Cubans are dead because of last week’s US attack, and Venezuela no longer needs protection from the thugs and extortionists who held it hostage for so many years.”

Since the beginning of the close Cuba-Venezuela alliance in the early 2000s, the Cuban regime systematically denied having troops, intelligence agents, security personnel or military operations in Venezuelan territory.

But Washington’s operation to capture Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Representative Cilia Flores, on January 3, broke down the farcesince Havana was forced to recognize the death of 32 Cuban agents who were part of the dictator’s security ring.

In this regard, Trump’s message warns that Venezuela now has the protection of the United States and its army, the most powerful in the world.

“There will be no more oil or money going to Cuba. Zero! I strongly suggest that you reach an agreement before it is too late,” the president stressed.
