Since the entourage would be of at least 60 people and would visit several countries, the trip would be in May on an Air Force plane. However, until now there is no official report on the agenda in Africa by the vice president.
News Colombia.
Francia Márquez, vice president of Colombia, will supposedly leave the country for Africa but she would not go alone, according to information published in some media, she would go with at least 60 people.
Of his most recent events on the agenda in the country, was his visit with President Gustavo Petro, Buenaventura and Chocó.
However, neither she nor the Vice Presidency have officially reported this international travel agenda.
Is the vice president going to Africa?
Speculation of that trip to Africa arose over the weekend.
María Isabel Rueda, a columnist for EL TIEMPO, wrote that the trip is a tour of that continent, in which she will visit several countries with which Colombia has a relationship and some with which it does not exist, because even the idea is to open at least , an embassy.
“Senegal, where we don’t have an embassy; South Africa, Kenya and Ethiopia, headquarters of the African Union, where we will spend significant money opening a new embassy,” says the opinion column, called “The Sponge.”
What is controversial about that text is that Rueda assures that Márquez would travel “as if he were on a safari”, with 60 people, who would be part of the entourage.
Given the number of people with whom he would be doing, including officials, members of the country’s chambers of commerce and the Foreign Ministry, the trip would be on an Air Force plane.
Although there have been many criticisms of the vice president for this supposed trip that could cost more than 700 million pesos -comparing stops, number of travelers and the fuel of a FAC plane-, there is no official response.
In social networks the trend has been Safari, but authorities have not responded or clarified or reported on the issue.
However, in networks some applaud this trip, they believe that it is necessary to “seek to expand Colombia’s relations.”
Excellent news, that he takes to the bitch’s nest, he is going to visit 5 countries in Africa, the same ones that are organizing to join the BRICS. I hope they set up embassies and forge good business relationships. Those countries are already selling the debt and paying in yuan,(1) pic.twitter.com/gk2uUrSRf4

Colombia and its relationship with Africa
North Africa and the Middle East It is a region that has great economic diversity and includes both oil-rich economies (such as the Gulf Cooperation Council countries) and countries whose resources are scarce in relation to their population, such as Egypt, Algeria, Morocco and Yemen, reports the Ministry Of Foreign Affairs.
Reportedly, the institutional presence is with its Embassies in Rabat, Morocco; Algiers, Algeria; Cairo, Egypt; Tel Aviv, Israel; Beirut, Lebanon; and Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
In Sub-Saharan Africa, Colombia has gone to share its experience in Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration. He has done so in countries such as Liberia, Somalia, Eritrea, Burundi, Uganda, Rwanda, and Angola, among others in permanent armed conflict and peace processes, some of which have been successful.
There’s also relationship with Central Asia.
Since2008, Colombia is an observer member of the African Unionand since 2009 it is an observer country of the League of Arab States.
If the Vice President travels to this continent, it would not be new, since the Foreign Ministry has relations with African countries.
However, so far, trade relations with Africa are few.
