The judge of the Fourth Court of Instruction of the National District annulled the mandatory review of the measure of coercion for those involved in the jellyfish case.
Judge Altagracia Ramírez de la Cruz made the decision alleging that the judge of the Third Court of Instruction, Amauris Martínez, was in charge of the accusation filed against the 41 people and 22 companies linked in the administrative corruption file.
Judge Amauris Martínez is expected to set the date for the hearing and to order the secretary of the court to notify the accusation to the lawyers of the defendants and to the constituted civil party, the Dominican State.
The former Attorney General of the Republic, Jean Alain Rodriguez He has been in preventive detention since June 29, 2021, along with Jonathan Joel Rodríguez, Javier Fortezza Ibarra and Alfredo Alexander Solano.
The decision was made by Judge Kenya Romero.
The defendants in the case are Rafael Antonio Mercedes Marte, Jenny Marte Peña and Altagracia Guillén Calzado, who are under house arrest, and Miguel José Moya, who was given an economic guarantee of RD$1 million in the form of a contract, through a insurance company, exit impediment and periodic presentation.
The formal accusation was deposited by Pepca last Saturday.
