SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, Mexico.- The company The Pinar del Río electricity company reported this Tuesday, through its channel Telegramthat the province does not have blackouts due to generation deficit.
The news was shared by official journalist Lázaro Manuel Alonso, who described the event as “very fair” due to the proximity of the tropical storm. Helenewhich begins to leave abundant rains in that western Cuban area.
“Amidst the limitations with the currentthose who need it most today are in Pinar del Río,” said the regime reporter.
However, the state-owned company has warned that there are service interruptions in several municipalities due to power line failures.
In addition, there are 65 pending complaints, most of them concentrated in Pinar del Rio. Others are accumulated in Consolacion (16), San Juan and Martinez (6), San Luis (5), Sandino (3), among others.
In that province, with the approach of Storm Helene, the authorities of the regime are taking measures to avoid the catastrophes they have had to face after the passage of other phenomena.
In this regard, they created seven medical-surgical brigades that went to the municipalities of Guane and Mantua, and the fishing communities, to assist the population in case of emergency.
Heavy rains are already being felt in the western region of Cuba as Helene gains in intensity.
The tropical storm could become a hurricane on Wednesday if its winds continue to increase. They are currently reaching 85 km/h and the pressure has dropped to 995 hPa.
According to ISMET, tropical storm force winds are expected to hit Isla de la Juventud and Pinar del Río starting Tuesday night, extending to Artemisa early Wednesday morning.
Wind strength will increase in the western end of Cuba starting early tomorrow and there will be storm surges: Storm surges on the southern coast from Pinar del Río to Sancti Spíritus, and “light to moderate” coastal flooding on the southwestern coast.
