Businessmen from Nuevo León demanded that the state’s senators not vote in favor of the judicial reform promoted by the Morena party, arguing that it undermines the autonomy of judges and puts the national economy at risk.
At a press conference, representatives of business and civil society organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce of Nuevo León, the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco), the National Chamber of Industry for the Development and Promotion of Housing, the Employers’ Confederation of the Mexican Republic (Coparmex) and the Civic Council, asked Waldo Fernández and Judith Díaz, representatives of Morena in the Senate, to reflect on the meaning of their vote; as well as Luis Donaldo Colosio Riojas, from Movimiento Ciudadano, and Alberto Anaya, from the Labor Party.
